On June 7 and 8, the St. Petersburg Cultural Programme in Zagreb will include two staples from the repertoire of the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre.
The Yacobson dancers' performance will continue the cultural exchange between the two cities. The troupe will present two shows at the Croatian National Theatre: this year's premiere of the Don Quixote ballet, staged by the Covent Garden star Johan Kobborg to celebrate the 200th birth anniversary of Marius Petipa, and the classical version of Giselle. This will be the Croatian public's third meeting with the renowned ballet company, which has already contributed to two galas during the Days of St. Petersburg in Zagreb.
June 7, the Theatre will take the Don Quixote. In this ballet, Ekaterina Yalynskaya will début as the Flower Girl; and Nuriya Kartamysova, as Sancho Panza's love interest.
We hope that our dancers enjoy a successful performance and receive a warm welcome in the wonderful land of Croatia!
