Andrey Sorokin, Principal at the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre, winner of the St. Petersburg City Council's Youth Award and the Golden Soffit Award (the top theatre prize in the city), has successfully graduated from the Bachelor's Programme at the Vaganova Russian Ballet Academy, earning a degree in Ballet Education. While one of the most brilliant and successful performers on the Russian ballet stage, Andrey has far more ambitious plans for his future. He intends not just to pursue a teaching career, but also to try and become a choreographer and director. On this momentous occasion, he fondly remembers his own ballet tutors, whose experience helped him greatly with his graduation thesis defence. He puts great emphasis on how our theatre's top managers supported the dancers during the trying pandemic period. On our own end, we would like to congratulate one of our most talented performers with mastering a new creative skills. We have confidence that he will succeed in this field!
