On June 5 and 6, the stars of ballet, opera, and musical theatre will give a number of Galas, which will be part of the Days of St. Petersburg in Zagreb programme, operated by the NevaArt production company. The soloists from the St. Petersburg State Academic Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will also make an already traditional appearance in the show.
The team of St. Petersburg art masters, tasked with the mission of representing Russia's main cultural hub in Zagreb, will include ballet dancers from our theatre. Our soloist Elena Chernova, as well as Stepan Dyomin, holder of an International Diploma, will perform the Viennese Waltz, set to music music by Johann Strauss and choreographed by Leonid Yacobson. In turn, the duo of Alla Bocharova, winner of the Saint-Petersburg City Council Youth Award, and Andrey Sorokin, a dancer lauded at multiple international competitions, will showcase their talent in several items on the Gala programme: Pas-de-deux from Don Quixote, a ballet with music by Ludwig Minkus and choreographic arrangements by Marius Petipa, and Adagio from Michel Fokine's Chopiniana ballet suite, set to music by Frederic Chopin. The artistic direction of the Galas will be overseen by Andrian Fadeev, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation and manager of the State Academic Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre. We hope that our colleagues enjoy a successful performance and receive a warm welcome in the wonderful land of Croatia!
