On November 2, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Company embraced four talented new dancers during The Nutcracker show at the Hermitage Theatre.
As winter and Christmas holidays draw nearer, the St. Petersburg public especially looks forward to The Nutcracker fairy-tale ballet, which immerses the audience in a world of magic, enchantment, and kindness. Following its fine traditions, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre gives its young dancers as chance to experience creative growth by performing new roles in the much-loved show. And thus, the Theatre's soloist Kirill Vychuzhanin, who had graduated from the Vaganova Russian Ballet Academy only a year before, made his début as the main character, Prince Nutcracker, together with Sofia Matyushenskaya, winner of an international contest, who appeared as Princess Masha. Furthermore, during the third act, the talented young dancers Konstantin Kilinchuk and Marseille Kazykhanov debuted in the Classical Trio, and the brilliant Galina Yanovskaya appeared for the first time in the Chinese Dance.
