This April, the renowned French danseur, choreographer, and teacher Jean-Guillaume Bart will hold workshops for members of the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Company.
Despite being both ballet principal at the Opéra National de Paris, holder of the honorary Danseur Etoile title, and an exceptional choreographer, Jean-Guillaume Bart considers himself a teacher first and foremost, and is happy to share what he knows at ballet workshops around the world. In 2016, Andrian Fadeev invited Jean-Guillaume to St. Petersburg, Russia, where he staged The Sleeping Beauty, Marius Petipa's undying classic, at the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre. The premiere was the highlight of the season. Today, the Theatre has decided to renew the collaboration, asking Bart to take on the role the dancers' tutor. The decision is all the more justified because the famous French choreographer has confirmed multiple times that he genuinely enjoys working with the Russian dancers, who are incredibly motivated to look for new means of creative expression.
