Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre Performs at Two Festivals in France

In late July, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Company visited the French region of Provence, showcasing a one-of-a-kind programme that featured a memorable one-act ballet and several spectacular choreographic miniatures.

On July 24, the dancers performed at the Eurythmie auditorium and concert hall in the Medieval city of Montauban during the Danse en Place'S festival, which lasted from July 19 till July 26. Afterwards, the company travelled to the Sisteron city and fortress, where it performed at the Theatre de la Citadel, as part of the Les Nuits de la Citadelle festival, held annually in late July and early August.

The theatre's contribution to the two events included Anton Pimonov's one-act ballet In the Rhythm of Dreams, the Vestris and Sextet choreographic miniatures by Leonid Yacobson, and two ballet excerpts: the Venetian Carnival Grand Pas de deux from Satanella (choreography by Marius Petipa) and Tchaikovsky Pas de deux (choreography by George Balanchine).
