After a long and successful tour abroad, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre is bringing its shows back to the St. Petersburg public, intending to perform at the city's most high-status venues.
Scarcely had our ballet company finished the lengthy journey across Europe, when we asserted ourselves at the prestigious Golden Mask theatre festival, presenting a memorably vibrant Don Quixote, which was honoured by the Expert Judging Panel in as many as seven nominations. The production also had a favourable response from the capital's sophisticated public, and received good press.
Upon returning to St. Petersburg, the Leonid Yacobson troupe rang in a new series of shows at the Mariinsky Theatre's historical venue by performing the legendary Swan Lake on April 1. On April 8, those coming to this prestigious theatre will see Don Quixote, a production that received several Golden Mask awards; while on May 6 and 20, the public is in store for the return of Tchaikovsky and Petipa's beloved characters.
