The Russian Seasons in France

The grand tour of the St. Petersburg State Academic Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre across France culminated with The Nutcracker show at the Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix-en-Provence on February 14, 15, and 16. The tour was part of the Russian Seasons 2020 cultural project.

Aix-en-Provence was the last of the nine cities that our theatre visited during the Russian Seasons festival. The tickets to the four shows at the Grand Théâtre de Provence were sold out in a blink.

On February 14, the two main parts in The Nutcracker were played by Elena Chernova and Stepan Dyomin, winner of an International Contest; on February 15, they were succeeded by Alla Bocharova, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation and holder of the St. Petersburg City Council Youth Award, and Andrey Sorokin, who also received the St. Petersburg City Council Youth Award, along with several international contest diplomas. Kirill Vychuzhanin and international contest winner Sofia Matyushenskaya closed the tour by playing the leads in the final show on February 16.

Overall, the theatre gave twenty-four performances during this tour.
