Tour in Switzerland

Late this June, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will go to Geneva, Switzerland, on a brief tour with The Sleeping Beauty.

From June 27 to June 30, the Swiss public will be able to see Jean-Guillaume Bart's version of The Sleeping Beauty, one of the Russian and European theatre goers' most beloved ballets, at Grand Théâtre de Genève, the main performance venue of the country's second capital. The premiere of this new take on Marius Petipa's masterpiece became a true gem of St. Petersburg's theatre world three years ago, laying the foundation of an amazing partnership between the Leonid Yacobson and the famed French ballet master and teacher Jean-Guillaume Bart, former principal of the Opéra National de Paris. This artfully designed show, with a fair share of choreographic innovation, has traditionally been very popular in Francophone nations, and the bilingual Switzerland, which is home to both German and French speakers, is no exception.
