CLASSICS, PREMIERES, TOURS. OUR PLANS FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON

The season will open with Swan Lake, the most popular and universally beloved Russian ballet. It will be performed at the historical venue of the Mariinsky Theatre. Just as for many seasons prior, we will be taking our shows to St. Petersburg’s best venues: the Mariinsky, Alexandrinsky, and Hermitage Theatres, as well as the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theatre.

And in spring, our playbill will expand with a brand-new title. Vyacheslav Samodurov is working on a one-act ballet set to the music of contemporary composer Dmitry Mazurov. Working with Vyacheslav has already brought us two prestigious awards, the Golden Mask and the Golden Soffit. During his third collaboration with the Yacobson Theatre, the choreographer will be teaming up with set designer Maria Tregubova.

Touring will also be a vital part of our schedule. In November, we are scheduled to appear at the Moscow Concert Hall. This multifunctional state-of-the-art venue was unveiled as recently as December 2022, and this will be our first time ever setting foot on its stage.

In December, we will be travelling to Vladikavkaz. Unlike the new concert hall, the Mariinsky branch in North Ossetia-Alania has all but become our second home. We have played multiple shows there, and are always honoured with the warmest welcome.

Finally, our to-do list for the nearest future also covers ballet master classes for aspiring dancers from Mariupol. Young ballerinas from the Central Children’s Art School in St. Petersburg’s sister city will be our guests from 29 September to 3 October, studying under Vaganova Academy tutor Victoria Omelnitskaya.
