The Soul of Ballet Award has counted among the most prestigious accolades in the field of dance for over thirty years. It has just come to our attention that the Creative Board of Ballet Magazine chose Leonid Yacobson Ballet soloist Dmitry Sobolev as this year’s recipient of the Soul of Ballet. Specifically, the young danseur has won in the Rising Star nomination. We are incredibly proud of Dmitry and wish him even more new creative breakthroughs!

The official award ceremony and gala concert starring the award winners traditionally take place in late April at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre in Moscow. The exact date is yet to be announced. The winners receive a precious trophy designed by sculptor Oleg Zakomorny. Their resumes are also published in a specialised magazine, which is just as important. Two issues highlighting the award winners have come out thus far: Ballet 20th Century and Ballet 21st Century. It is thus no exaggeration to say that Dmitry Sobolev has written his own page in the history books!
