The Leonid Yacobson Company has just concluded its series of master classes for Mariupol’s young ballerinas, held at the Theatre’s Rotunda. The participants were invited to a special festive ceremony, where they received diplomas from Fyodor Boltin, head of the St. Petersburg Committee for Culture, and from Andrian Fadeev, art director of the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre. Initiated by Governor Alexander Beglov and supported by the Committee for Culture, this project is being hosted by the Yacobson Theatre for the second time.
As many as 18 young girls spent their exciting trip to St. Petersburg being tutored in classical dance by Victoria Omelnitskaya, who teaches at the legendary Vaganova Russian Ballet Academy. They also attended various guided tours, saw The Bronze Horseman show at the Mariinsky Theatre, and visited the Boris Eifman Dance Academy.
