From 4 to 7 December, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre will be away in Vladikavkaz, on a trip arranged by the ROSCONCERT federal touring and concert centre, in line with the nationwide theatre tour plan proposed by the Russian Ministry of Culture. Our troupe will be taking part in the Leading Theatres’ Grand Tour Programme at the Mariinsky branch in North Ossetia-Alania, with showings of The Nutcracker. We have opted for performing Vasili Vainonen’s interpretation of the ballet, which is considered the ballet canon. It first saw the limelight in 1934 and still remains one of the most popular and highly regarded versions of The Nutcracker.
