SPIEF’25 finds the link between culture and the economy

“We're Going on Tour: The Link between Culture and the Economy” was a special discussion during the Business Programme of SPIEF’25, initiated by St. Petersburg’s Committee for Culture and hosted on 20 June, 2025.

The participants talked about the keystones of funding culturally relevant tour projects, and highlighted the role played by culture in shaping a creative and productive environment within the business community, various cities, and the country overall. The agenda further covered the challenges of supporting exhibitions and music and theatre projects in the new reality, sustaining a high-quality cultural output against the limitations imposed by sanctions, and much more.

“Russian theatre has always openly welcomed people from other choreographic schools and other countries. This is still the case,” argued Andrian Fadeev.

Andrian Fadeev is the Art Director and Manager of the Leonid Yacobson Theatre Company and head of the Mariinsky Theatre’s ballet troupe.
