The last winter month has yielded a treasure trove of débuts at the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Company. Our dancers have been making contributions to a variety of successful productions at the main venue of the Alexandrinsky Theatre.  For instance, on 21 February, Timofey Fedorenko made his first appearance as Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker, while Nikita Ryzhov had his début in the Spanish Dance, which is part of the same production. During another Nutcracker show, on 23 February, Aleksandr Polupanov performed in the Spanish Dance for the first time, and Irina Silantyeva and Maria Konovalova joined the Oriental Dance quartet, also as a début...

The Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will be performing The Sleeping Beauty, a ballet classic staged by Jean-Guillaume Bart, on the main stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre on January 23 and 24. On January 23, the parts of the Princess's Suitors will be played by our young danseurs Aleksey Shmetoyev, Lorenzo Lodi, and Timofey Fedorenko. The public will also get to meet a new Diamond Fairy, played by Anastasia Milyachenko. Yuliya Korolyova will play the Silver Fairy. Ksenia Andreenko and Victoria Khanzhina will make a début in the first act as well.
Elina Bednaya will make her first appearance as the Lilac Fairy during the morning show on January 24. We would like to congratulate the young dancers and wish them all the best!

On January 18, the main venue of the  Alexandrinsky Theatre was transformed into a Cwinter wonderland, thanks to The Nutcracker Christmas show by the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre. This world-class masterpiece was made especially stunning by the débuts of three young performers. Victoria Bazhenova played the Doll for the first time, while Ivanna Sulyma and Aleksandr Polupanov made a début appearance in the third-act dances, the Spanish Dance and Trepak respectively. We are delighted by this successful début and hope that the dancers' further career will be just as fruitful!

On December 9, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will be putting on the Giselle production at the main stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. The show will feature a début by a young ballerina. Sofia Matyushenskaya, our troupe’s principal dancer and winner of an international contest, will play the titular role for the very first time. We’d like to wish her a happy début and a fruitful creative career!

Maria Repetieva, a young ballerina from the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre, made her first appearance as Florica the flower girl during the Don Quixote show at the Alexandrinsky Theatre on November 30. We were delighted to watch her successful performance, and hope that she will keep getting new and interesting roles!
