Dance spotlight shines on the Palace Square
26.05.2026

The Classics in the Palace Square show is one of St. Petersburg’s most cherished long-standing traditions. As Russia’s Northern Capital celebrates its 323rd founding day, the open-air performance against the city’s spectacular architectural backdrop is set to become the crown jewel of the week-long festivities. Join us on Friday, 29 May, at 9:30 PM in the Palace Square! The Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre is also on the billboard of this grand concert, where opera, symphonic music, and choreography all come together.

More than 250 performers will gather in the Palace Square for an evening of world-famous opera masterpieces, large-scale multimedia installations, and spectacular dance performances. Dancers from the Yacobson Ballet Theatre will appear in six show segments, primarily set to beloved operatic classics, including famous themes from The Barber of Seville and La Traviata. Audiences can look forward to spirited Spanish and Hungarian dances, a stately polonaise, and a breathtaking waltz.

City Day in St. Petersburg has an ambience like no other: the romance of the White Nights, a sensation of wonder, and a feeling of togetherness that comes only once a year.
