The first tour of the Leonid Yacobson Ballet to the historical Bolshoi Theatre since the 2022 hiatus began in the Russian capital on 28 July. We have 9 showings planned overall, including those of classical Russian masterpieces: Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and Don Quixote. For opening our tour, however, we performed ballets by our Theatre’s founder, Leonid Yacobson. Visitors to the legendary Bolshoi were able to see excerpts from the Classicism–Romanticism cycle and various Rodin miniatures, which just might be the most unique and emotionally resonant shows to be staged in the 20th century, forever changing the public perception of what ballet is capable of as an art form. Our dancers were understandably quite anxious ahead of performing at the capital: a professional challenge like no other. But they rose to the occasion, showing ultimate dedication and skill mastery. Which was greatly appreciated by the sophisticated public, as the fully packed theatre erupted into countless rounds of passionate applause.
