Tour of Five Chinese Cities
06.03.2026

In March–April 2026, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will embark on a tour across the People's Republic of China. Major theatrical venues will welcome the classics of Russian ballet. Audiences in Beijing, Tianjin, Kunming, Changsha and Xi'an are looking forward to Swan Lake performed by our company’s dancers

‘Choreographic heritage is a vital component of cultural exchange,’ notes Andrian Fadeev, Art Director of the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre. ‘Our immediate goal is to present the ballet repertoire’s most popular show in its refined academic form, and at an impeccable quality. And our ultimate aspiration is to demonstrate the value of ballet as a national brand and an important part of Russia’s cultural heritage.’

The Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre is already well-known in China. The company first toured the country in 2013, when its performances in the city of Jinan became a genuine triumph of Russian ballet. And in February 2023, the theatre’s dancers also took part in the Made in Russia Festival in Dalian, held to mark the Year of Cross-Cultural Exchange between the two countries.

Performances by the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will take place in:

— Beijing, at the Beijing Tianqiao Centre;
— Tianjin, at the Tianjin Grand Theatre;
— Xi'an, at the Xi’an Kaiyuan Grand Theatre;
— Changsha, at the Meixihu Art Centre Theatre;
and
— Kunming, at the Kunming Theatre.
