Our new season will be hosted at St. Petersburg’s best venues
For the first time in its history, the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre will open its latest, 56th, season at the historic venue of the Mariinsky Theatre. The playbill begins with Don Quixote, one of the most popular productions in our classical repertoire. Even ahead of the planned showing date on 13 September, it is quite obvious that the season opening will be fully sold out.
Our choreographic team plans both to stay loyal to the classics and to keep working on the revival of Leonid Yacobson’s creative heritage. As always, we will play our ballets at the best theatres St. Petersburg has to offer: Mariinsky, Alexandrinsky, and the Hermitage Theatre.
Touring will also be a vital part of our schedule. The Theatre is set to revisit the locations that have essentially become a second home to us: on 17 November, we will travel to Minsk to perform at the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus; on 20 November, we will give a performance at the Vitebsk Concert Hall; and from 27 November to 7 December, we will have a number of shows at the Mariinsky branch in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia.
Finally, our to-do list for the nearest future also covers ballet lessons and master classes for aspiring dancers from Russia’s new regions.
