Ulyana Lopatkina rehearses Swan Lake

Maria Repetieva is getting ready for her début in Swan Lake. Today will be her first time playing Odette and Odile, one of the most complex roles in the classical repertoire.

While working on her character — or rather two characters in one, complete opposites of each other — she was tutored by Ulyana Lopatkina herself. This remarkable ballerina from St. Petersburg, perhaps the greatest Odette and Odile to ever grace the world stage, has been helping our Theatre train its young dancers.

We have no doubt that Maria’s début in Swan Lake under the guidance of Ulyana Lopatkina will become an important creative milestone for our aspiring ballerina.
